Thoughtful writing workshops to explore identity, meaning, and life stories.

Our Approach

At Write to Grow, writing is approached as a gentle practice -- one that invites listening, attention, and curiosity. Using free-flow writing and shared reflection, participants are encouraged to explore what lies beneath the surface and to give language to experiences that may not yet be fully formed. The focus is not on performance or perfection, but on creating space for insight, meaning, and connection to emerge naturally.

Invitation

If you’re longing for a quiet moment to breathe, reflect, and write from your heart, you’re in the right place. I invite you to explore the upcoming 2026 workshops and discover where your writing might take you.

Two Natural Pathways

You may come to these workshops for one of two reasons, or both:

Self-Discovery Through Writing

Life-Story & Essay Writing

Many participants begin with curiosity about themselves and gradually discover a body of writing taking shape on the page. Others arrive with the long-held wish to give their life stories time and attention through writing. Wherever you begin, you are welcome.

“Sharon’s writing workshops are excellent!  If you are wondering if you should explore this way to express yourself through guided writing, don’t hesitate. The way the workshop was structured allowed me to explore and access my thoughts and experiences in a whole new way as I’d never taken a writing course before.“

An unhurried, respectful group environment

Each workshop is complete in itself. Many participants return simply because the practice continues to be meaningful. People come to writing for different reasons -- some seeking personal understanding, others carrying a long-held wish to put their life stories into words. Both are welcomed here.

At its heart, Write to Grow is about listening -- to ourselves, to our stories, and to what has shaped us over time. We use writing as a gentle practice to slow down, reflect, and give voice to experiences that often live quietly beneath the surface. The workshops offer a welcoming space for thoughtful exploration, guided with respect for each individual’s pace and process.

Work with Sharon

About Sharon

Sharon Fleming is an educator, writer, and facilitator who has spent decades creating spaces where adults feel safe to reflect, explore, and express what matters most to them. With a background in adult education and psychology, she approaches writing not simply as a skill, but as a way of listening -- both inwardly and to one another.

Over the years, Sharon has taught, written, and guided groups through the practice of free-flow writing, witnessing firsthand how the page can become a place of clarity, healing, and insight. Her workshops are shaped by warmth, curiosity, and respect for each person’s lived experience, inviting participants to write honestly, without pressure to perform or perfect.

Sharon believes that everyone carries meaningful stories within them -- and that, given time and care, writing can help those stories find their voice.

What Guides My Work

I believe writing opens doors. When we write without judgment, we learn to listen to ourselves in a new way. My workshops do not involve polished writing or perfect sentences. Instead, they encourage openness, discovery, and growth. Every person who enters the space is met with kindness, encouragement, and the quiet confidence that their stories matter.

What You’ll Experience
